Interior/Exterior Painting

On every job we use drop cloths and plastic, we caulk and fill holes, sand, prime, spackle, clean brushes/rollers and shop vacuum for a full service experience.

JJ Valenti Custom Painting has painted new and existing homes up to 50 feet and higher on ladders and planks. We have experience in painting both by hand and sprayer. We have expert skills in painting wainscoting, B-Bord, asbestos, stucco, clapboard, shakes, MDF (tons of it) dark stained trim paint with no bleeding. Oak, pine, mahogany and virtually, any type of wood can be painted or stained beautifully. JJ Valenti Custom Painting has done thousands of six panel doors with perfection.

Faux Painting

Faux finishing takes patience, knowledge and artistic ability. We've done rag on, rag off, color washing, pouncing, venetian plastering, suede, stripes, and others forms of faux finishing. Faux glazing requires creativity and expert craftsmanship. It is important to know the products and the effects of them, as well as to know what to mix and how much. There are oil, latex, paint and stain glazes. There are products like lynn seed oils and metallic paint and more that can all be added for different effects. To create various texture effects we can use sea sponge, plastic bags, lamb skin, finishing cheese cloth, and an assortment of different brushes.

Skim Coat/Taping

Spackling and taping is an art and it takes years to master. Even with over a decade of experience, you are only as good as your tools. JJ Valenti Custom Painting has invested thousands of dollars over the years in equipment that will produce quality results. We have stilts for high ceiling work. We have access to bakers scaffolding for cathedral ceilings. Our inventory includes spackle knives ranging in size from 1 inch to 12 inches. We work from a haag (this is a german word like haagen daaz ice cream) not a tray. JJ Valenti Custom Painting has worked on brand new houses, plaster houses, fix ups, patches, sky-lights, cornerbeed installations and spackle. We master all phases of spackling. There is minimal sanding during the 3 step spackle process and we are meticulous. We specialize in smaller jobs but occasionally get over 100 boards to spackle.

Wallpaper Application and Removal

Prep is very important in wallpapering. Your walls will be smooth and clean before putting on a sizing primer/sealer. All our paper hanging pieces are cut with patience and all pieces are plum.
